Amicus II is docked in the Lagoon at the Knife River Marina, which is located along the Scenic North Shore Drive—7 miles south of Two Harbors, MN, and 14 miles north of Duluth, MN. This scenic location provides easy access whether you’re coming from the north or south.

If you’re coming from Two Harbors (approximately a 15-minute drive), take the Scenic North Shore Drive heading south toward the village of Knife River. After about 7 miles, you’ll cross the Knife River Bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn left onto Marina Road, heading toward the lake.

If you’re coming from Duluth (around 30 minutes from downtown), take Highway 61 north out of the city. After about 15 minutes on the freeway, take the exit for Knife River (look for the green highway sign). Continue straight until you reach the Scenic Highway, then turn right. Cross the Knife River Bridge and turn left onto Marina Road.

Once you’re on Marina Road (from either direction), continue across the railroad tracks. Just before you reach the marina, veer right onto the gravel road marked “NO OUTLET.” Drive about 100 yards and take the first left into the gravel parking lot. You may park anywhere in this lot, but please avoid parking on the grass near the boat.

Amicus II, the large red sailboat, will be docked in the lagoon on the right side of the parking lot. From there, walk through the grass to reach the boat.
